Maker: One Workplace Marketing
My team found me in a state of disarray. An old papasan chair turned into a chew toy for Milo the pup. I was prime for upcycling in hopes of avoiding the landfill. The assignment: reinvent me for the 2022 Chairity Annual Event, hosted by Two. The theme: 1960’s Peace, Love & Chairity.
Inspired by images of the 60’s, my team turned to bright colors, shag carpet and of course… psychedelics. With many parents on the team, they started to imagine the perfect decorative piece for a child’s room or reading nook. My base was given a fresh coat of paint and transformed to a sitting stool with an artfully-woven macramé to support a shag green pillow. My seating frame was flipped to create a mushroom canopy, providing a sense of calm under the LED black-lit gills. My canopy can be hung from a ceiling or supported by the included metal frame.
