Keeping with this year’s theme of “Peace, Love & Chairity”, our concept was to embody the revolutionary spirit of the 1960’s. With this in mind, we wanted to present a furniture piece that begins as a traditional and simple table and can then transform – multiple times – into unexpected experiences. While staying inspired by one of the major threads that tied the 1960’s together – great music and entertainment.
Meet Rufus! In the default position, Rufus appears as a handsome console table. But once the tabletop pivots open, a fully functioning turntable allows you to spin your favorite grooves, whether it’s for a social get-together or an impromptu dance party! Furthermore, the tabletop flips open once again to reveal a groovy checkerboard table, perfect for indoor or outdoor game nights.
Rufus’ features include:
- A vibrantly colored vinyl checkerboard tabletop with custom hand painted game pieces.
- A hinged tabletop reveals a hidden plug-in style turntable and additional storage space for smaller items.
- Those with a slightly larger trunk can transport Rufus relatively easily to parks, parties, or other venues to keep the party going.
Rufus takes the cultural revolution of the 60’s and presents a literal revolution of music and joy at a time when it is finally starting to feel normal again to get together and party!
