Each table embraces the slab\u2019s naturally occurring checks, which are reinforced with X-shaped\u00a0brass stitches. The inset stitches beautifully contrast the chocolate tones of the walnut, highlighting the natural beauty of the wood and the functionality of the stitches. The slab is elegantly braced by an\u00a0X-frame in matte black for a minimal yet stunning appeal. Steve (Woodworker) and Ed (Metalworker) collaborated to fit this specific slab to its custom steel base and to get the brass stitches thoughtfully placed into the wood slab top\u2014completed in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Uhuru&#8217;s slabs are sourced as locally as possible (this one was from Pennsylvania) and are milled and dried near their Denver, PA shop.
